Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has recently changed the rule where it has allowed tourist temporarily to import vehicles without payment of any duties and the taxes for a limited time period of six months.
Meanwhile under this procedure the tourist who would import any vehicle against the carnet-de-passage or by the bank guarantee might be given a delivery thereof by officer-in-charge of the Customs-station for entry without any payment of customs duties as for the retention of it in Pakistan.
However, if any of these tourists makes a declaration at Customs-station for entry to an effect that the person will not constructively or even substantially transfer ownership of their vehicles to even any other person during their stay in the country, Pakistan.
