Twitter Rival ‘Threads’ Logs Five Million Users in First Four Hours After Going Live

Mark Zuckerberg’s new app called Threads, which is a rival to Twitter, got a mixed reaction today as more than 5 million users signed up. Some users were excited about the new platform, but many people on social media made jokes and shared memes criticizing the app for its bugs and lack of basic features. They humorously suggested that people would go back to using Twitter after trying Threads.

Mark Zuckerberg himself announced the impressive number of sign-ups and said he wants the app to have over 1 billion users and be a place for public conversations. Threads allows users to log in with their Instagram accounts, follow friends and influencers, and join discussions on different topics.
