On January 1, 2024, Ras Al Khaimah, a city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), made history by breaking two Guinness World Records during the New Year’s celebrations. The city welcomed the year 2024 with an extraordinary eight-minute-long display of fireworks and drones, setting records for the ‘Longest chain of aquatic floating fireworks’ spanning a grand total of 5.8km and the ‘Longest straight-line drones display’ covering a distance of 2km.
The dazzling show was a result of innovative techniques, involving 1,050 LED drones, a unique display of aquatic floating fireworks forming a ‘carpet,’ and acrobatic pyro planes performing in synchronization.
The inspiration behind these displays was drawn from Ras Al Khaimah’s natural wonders, incorporating elements representing the desert, the sea, and the mountains. All of this was meticulously choreographed to music composed specifically for the occasion.
Ras Al Khaimah, already known for hosting iconic New Year’s Eve shows, added these two Guinness World Records to its list of achievements. The spectacular event illuminated the skies along the 4.5km stretch of Ras Al Khaimah’s waterfront, creating a breathtaking experience for the residents and visitors alike.
The use of cutting-edge technology and the integration of various elements showcased Ras Al Khaimah’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity in celebrating special occasions.
The records not only highlighted the city’s dedication to providing unforgettable experiences but also showcased its natural beauty and diverse landscapes. The event marked a historic moment, reinforcing Ras Al Khaimah’s status as a global destination for exceptional New Year’s celebrations.
