The UAE has once again proved its dominance in internet speed rankings. According to Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index, the UAE claimed the top spot worldwide for mobile internet speed in June. With download speeds of 204.24 Mbps and upload speeds of 22.72 Mbps, it outpaced all other countries during the first half of 2023 (January, February, March, May, and June), only ranking second in April.
UAE also secured the second position globally and came first among Arab countries for fixed broadband speed in June. With a download speed of 239.2 Mbps. Singapore was the only country that outpaced the UAE, reaching 247.29 Mbps.
The quarterly reports by Ookla also showcased Etisalat by e&. As the provider offers the fastest median download speeds for both mobile (216.65 Mbps) and fixed (261.98 Mbps) during Q2 2023. In addition, Etisalat by e& set a new benchmark with the fastest median 5G download speed of 680.88 Mbps, while keeping mobile multi-server latency to a minimum with just 35 ms.
