UAE to Launch Direct Flights to Skardu

According to Adviser to the Prime Minister on Tourism and Sports Aun Chaudhry, the Pakistani government is currently in negotiations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to establish direct flights to Skardu, a well-known tourist destination in the region of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

Aun led a 25-member delegation to the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023 in Dubai, during which he revealed that such direct flights would significantly boost tourism in the northern areas of Pakistan.

This development is expected to make travel to Skardu more convenient for tourists from the UAE, potentially attracting a larger number of visitors to this scenic part of the country.

In order to tap into Pakistan’s tourism potential, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed his adviser on Tourism and Sports, Aun Chaudhry, to collaborate with the private sector and take necessary measures to increase tourism in the country.

Aun emphasized that Pakistan has many attractive destinations that can be explored, particularly in areas like Skardu.

To promote Pakistan’s tourism industry, the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has established a pavilion at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023 in Dubai.

The PTDC has partnered with other organizations such as the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Pearl Continental Hotels, and Hashoo Group to showcase the country’s tourism potential and attract more visitors to Pakistan.
