Uber recently announced its first-ever food delivery to the International Space Station, making history as the first delivery platform to do so.
To carry the groceries to space, Uber Eats teamed up with Yusaku Maezawa, a Japanese entrepreneur and delivery aficionado.
During his 12-day orbit, Maezawa delivered ready-to-eat canned Japanese cuisine to the astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
Boiled mackerel in miso, beef bowl cooked in sweet sauce, simmering chicken with bamboo shoots, and braised pork were among the meals.
Maezawa travelled 248 miles in 8 hours and 34 minutes to make the delivery on Dec. 11 at 9:40 a.m. EST.
In addition to adding space miles to their queue, Uber Eats is celebrating the milestone by offering $10 off $20 or more purchases to the first 24,800 individuals who use the promo code SPACEFOOD.
