Ufone Secures First Position in PTA Network Performance Rankings for 2022

In the recent PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) Mobile Networks Benchmark Reports of 2022, Ufone received the highest overall Network Performance Score (NPS), surpassing 600 points in total with a comfortable lead of 93 and 131 points over Zong and Jazz.

In the total benchmarking campaign, Ufone received the highest score, while Zong came in second, followed by Jazz and Telenor. Ufone, Zong, Jazz, and Telenor had total NPS scores of 634, 541, 503, and 384 points, respectively.

Five cities, four towns, and four motorways/highways were surveyed altogether. Over 15,000 voice calls were placed, and 45,000 data tests were completed. Further, the Quality of Service (QoS) test encompassed a 4,522-kilometer-long area that included cities, towns, and roadways in federal and provincial capitals.

From January 11 to February 2, 2022, PTA conducted its second nationwide NPS benchmarking campaign in different cities, towns, and motorways/highways across Pakistan to analyze the quality and performance of mobile networks using the newest NPS methodology.

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has standardized NPS as a harmonized and integrative scoring technique that helps Telecom regulators to compare and evaluate the quality of all mobile networks using international standard KPIs. NPS is currently a part of the PTA’s Cellular Mobile Network QoS Regulations 2021.
