UK, Gulf to Establish 280 Skills Centers in Pakistan

The UK government and several Middle Eastern institutions are working together to set up 280 skills centers across Pakistan. This plan aims to create millions of job opportunities for Pakistanis around the world.

A delegation from the UK, which includes representatives from UK universities and GEMS Middle East, is currently visiting Pakistan to work on a project focused on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

This project is a joint effort with the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) of Pakistan to provide training and certification. The certifications will be awarded jointly by institutions from Pakistan, the UK, and Gulf countries, ensuring global recognition of the skills learned.

The goal is to equip people with the skills needed in sectors like security, hospitality, and construction, making them eligible for jobs abroad, particularly in Gulf countries like Dubai. In the first phase, the initiative aims to provide 80,000 job opportunities in these fields.

This project is a major step towards addressing unemployment in Pakistan and giving people better job opportunities globally. By providing quality training and internationally recognized certifications, the initiative will help Pakistanis access better careers and contribute positively to the global workforce.
