“The provincial government has announced the implementation of next year’s universal vehicle number plate system in an attempt to raise provincial revenue through increased vehicle registration.”
Syed Ghazi Ghazan Jamal, Special Assistant to Chief Minister (SACM) on Excise and Taxation, revealed this while briefing the media on his department’s two-year results.
He said this year that the department has so far recovered Rs. 2 billion on the head of different taxes, with an additional collection of over Rs. 180 million compared to the previous year, which showed a rise of 143 percent compared to the previous year.
