VEON Group CEO Inaugurates $8 Million Jazz Digital Park In Islamabad

Kaan Terziolu, CEO of the VEON Group, today opened the Jazz Digital Park (JDP), which was built with a US$8 million investment. JDP, which is based in Islamabad, will help the country achieve its digital transformation goals by drastically enhancing the current level of IT services supplied to various sectors.

JDP is Pakistan’s largest Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) Tier-III accredited data centre in terms of white space and power capacity, with a present capacity of more than 300 racks that can be expanded to 450 racks and a 3-megawatt power infrastructure.

Jazz will use this digital park to provide enterprises and local entrepreneurs with safe IT infrastructure and hardware hosting. Further, JDP will also host Jazz’s new cloud platform, which is set to launch soon.

The onshore cloud will be a huge step forward in ensuring that data created in Pakistan stays in Pakistan.

Jazz also intends to help Pakistani startups by providing cloud credits through its premium startup accelerator programme Jazz xlr8 at the National Incubation Center. The cloud infrastructure is expected to not only lower the entrance barrier for new Pakistani entrepreneurs, but also to help established businesses speed their growth plans.
