The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made significant changes in its cricket management structure. Former cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has been appointed as the new Director of Cricket, taking on the role previously held by Mickey Arthur. This decision comes shortly after Pakistan’s national cricket team exited the World Cup in 2023.
As part of the restructuring, the entire coaching staff has seen a change in their roles, and they will now operate from the National Cricket Academy. The specifics of the new coaching staff for the upcoming cricket series in Australia and New Zealand will be disclosed later.
In addition to these changes, Wahab Riaz has been entrusted with the position of Chief Selector, stepping into the role left vacant by Inzamam-ul-Haq’s resignation due to conflict of interest allegations. Furthermore, Sohail Tanveer has been appointed to lead the junior selection team.
These appointments indicate a strategic shift in the leadership and management of Pakistan cricket, signaling the PCB’s efforts to revitalize and enhance the performance of the national team across different levels.
