Wapda Announces Job Opportunities in Pakistan

The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in Pakistan has announced exciting job opportunities specifically for former members of the Armed Forces. These positions, which are expected to become permanent after a one-year probation period based on performance, offer a chance for retired military personnel to bring their skills and experience to one of Pakistan’s key organizations. Job Openings and Requirements

WAPDA is looking to hire for several positions in its vigilance department. These positions are suitable for retired Armed Forces personnel who have completed rank or colored service. The positions available include:

  1. Senior Vigilance Officer
  • Vacancies: 16
  • Qualification: Candidates should be retired Armed Forces Junior Commissioned Officers, with ranks of Honorary Lieutenant or Captain, or Subedar Major. They must have passed the Secondary School Certificate Examination with a “C” grade or 2nd division or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board. Candidates must have completed an intelligence course and possess five years of field experience in intelligence duties. Basic computer skills are required.
  • Maximum Age: 50 years
  1. Inspector Vigilance (Field)
  • Vacancies: 11
  • Qualification: Retired Armed Forces personnel with the rank of Havildar or equivalent are eligible. Candidates should have a Secondary School Certificate with at least a “C” grade or 2nd division. Intelligence course completion and three years of field intelligence experience are required, as well as basic computer literacy.
  • Maximum Age: 44 years
  1. Assistant Inspector Vigilance (Field)
  • Vacancies: 9
  • Qualification: Open to retired Armed Forces personnel of the rank of Lance Havildar, Naik, or equivalent. A Secondary School Certificate with a “C” grade or 2nd division is required, along with an intelligence course qualification and three years of intelligence experience. Basic computer skills are also necessary.
  • Maximum Age: 42 years

Eligibility and General Conditions

Only candidates who meet the eligibility requirements will be shortlisted for the recruitment test and interview. Key conditions include:

  • Medical and Character Requirements: All ex-servicemen applying must be medically fit (Category ‘A’) and should have an “Exemplary” or equivalent character record upon discharge from the Armed Forces.
  • Probation Period: The selected candidates will initially be hired on a probation period of one year. Permanent status will be based on satisfactory performance. However, WAPDA reserves the right to terminate employment without notice during probation for unsatisfactory performance.
  • No Age Relaxation: Candidates should note that no additional age relaxation will be provided beyond the maximum age limits mentioned.

  1. Application Fee: Candidates must submit a fee of Rs. 400 in favor of the Director (Exams), WAPDA A/C No. 0010000019473924 at Allied Bank Limited, WAPDA House, Lahore Branch. Applications without the fee will not be considered.
  2. Required Documents: Completed application forms should be submitted with a CV, photocopies of the discharge certificate, course report, CNIC, attested copies of educational and experience certificates, two recent passport-size photos, and the fee deposit receipt.
  3. Submission: All application materials should be sent by post or courier to the Director (Vigilance) WAPDA at 217-WAPDA House, Lahore, within 15 days of the job advertisement. In-person applications are not accepted.
