A WhatsApp scam allows hackers to lock your account by gaining access to it after sending a message to the victim requesting a 6-digit code.
People who fall victim to the scam receive a message on WhatsApp, purportedly from a friend, saying, “Hello, sorry, I sent you a 6-digit code by mistake, can you please pass it to me?” It is urgent?”
WhatsApp users are advised not to send the code or click the connection that came with the cybercriminals’ message because it is the two-factor authentication code.
If the victims give the code to the hackers, the hackers will be able to access their WhatsApp account and contact list, which could result in the account being locked.
