According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to speed up audio messages that have been forwarded to them. The functionality will function similarly to the platform’s previous Fast Playback feature, which allowed users to speed up audio communications by up to 1.5x or 2x in general.
When sending an audio message to another user or receiving a forwarded audio message, however, the user does not have the option of changing the playback speed. Given that the functionality is still in development, this could change soon.
According to WABetaInfo, a future Android and iOS beta release will provide the ability to increase playing speed for forwarded voice notes or audio messages. The feature will not be visible to beta users for the time being, according to the website. It has also shared a screenshot that shows the quick playback feature working on a sent audio note.
