Do you want to win cash prizes by simply taking a photo of Dubai’s eco-friendly public transportation? Well, now you can!
The Roads and Transport Authority has teamed up with the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Awards (Hipa) for the third edition of their photography contest. From September 25 to October 15, participants have the chance to submit their photos and win cash prizes totaling more than Dh30,000.
This year’s competition focuses on using photography to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable transportation. Anyone, whether you’re a professional photographer or just someone who loves taking pictures, can join the contest. All you need to do is capture the beauty of Dubai’s public transportation system, including the metro, tram, public buses, and even water transport like water buses, water taxis, ferries, and abras.
Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, Secretary-General of HIPA, emphasized the role of sustainability in shaping a better future for everyone. He stressed the power of photography to convey the concept of sustainability through artistic expression.
Yousef Al Rida, CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, highlighted that the competition aligns with the Year of Sustainability 2023. Its goal is to encourage residents, tourists, and especially public transport users to showcase Dubai’s sustainable transportation through their smartphone cameras. The various modes of public transport, from the metro to water taxis, can all be part of your winning shot.
