Workers’ Remittances Surpass $2Billion for Nine Consecutive Months

In February 2021, workers’ remittances surpassed $2 billion for the ninth month in a row, as per data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday.

Pakistan received $2.26 billion worth of remittances in the month of February, roughly the same as the previous month. Remittances, on the other hand, increased by 24.2 percent compared to the same month last year.

Workers’ remittances reached $18.7 billion from July to February of FY21, a 24.1 percent improvement over the previous year’s comparable period.

Saudi Arabia ($5.0 billion), United Arab Emirates ($3.9 billion), United Kingdom ($2.5 billion), and the United States ($1.6 billion) accounted for a substantial portion of workers’ remittance inflow from July to February FY21.
