Renewal passport process is now as simple as ABC, that’s because you can now simply apply, renew or get a replaced one (if lost or damaged) via Emirati passport through five different channels.
These are:
1- The General Departments of Residency and Foreigners Affairs/Citizenship Section.
2- The Nationality and Residence portal (eChannels).
3- The online passport service for citizens.
4- The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
5- Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah Airports.
The initiated service is available at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports 24/7.
So, if you lost your Emirati passport or its damaged/expire you can now contact the UAE embassy or consulate and you can obtain a new one at the airport.
UAE passports are valid for no longer than five years.
When applying for a new one, you must submit three documents which are listed as under
1- A family book or a copy of it.
2- The original ID or a copy of it.
3- A recent personal photo.
