YouTube is Bringing Unskippable 30-Second Ads to TV

YouTube has announced that it will introduce 30-second unskippable ads on connected TVs, replacing the two 15-second ads currently shown on the platform. This announcement was made at the YouTube Brandcast upfront event in New York.

The new ads will be available in the YouTube Select program, which allows advertisers to target top videos. YouTube Select provides access to curated, high-quality video content creators and publishers across various categories. With the new 30-second ads, advertisers can better target their campaigns and utilize their existing resources without separate investments for YouTube and TV ads.

YouTube also mentioned the introduction of “Pause” ads on connected TVs, allowing advertisers to showcase their ads when a video is paused. Google has clarified that it will not delete accounts with YouTube videos, contrary to earlier announcements of deleting inactive accounts and their content.
