Former Pakistan Cricket Team captain Muhammad Hafeez has been offered the position of chief selector by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) under the new head, Zaka Ashraf. However, Hafeez has not yet accepted the offer and has asked for some time to think about it.
There are also reports suggesting that former captains Younis Khan, Mohsin Hassan Khan, and Saleem Yousaf might be offered roles in the selection committee. Former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar’s name was discussed for a position in the PCB, but Zaka Ashraf rejected the idea.
Hafeez has mentioned that he respects Ashraf as an administrator but currently doesn’t want to take up a job. He has expressed his willingness to accept an offer that would have a positive impact on Pakistan cricket.
