In recognition of his historic achievement at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK, javelin-thrower Arshad Nadeem was honored by the Zalmi Foundation on Saturday.
As a token of appreciation, Arshad was awarded one million rupees by Peshawar Zalmi’s Director Cricketing Affairs, Muhammad Akram, representing franchise chairman Javed Afridi and the Zalmi Foundation.
During the special ceremony held at the Zalmi Headquarters, Muhammad Akram presented the well-deserved cheque to Arshad Nadeem. The Zalmi franchise takes immense pride in acknowledging and celebrating the accomplishments of national heroes like Arshad. They aim to inspire and motivate the youth from all backgrounds to strive for excellence and bring glory to the country.
Arshad Nadeem, a 26-year-old athlete, achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the gold medal in the javelin throw event at the Commonwealth Games. His exceptional performance included a massive throw of 90.18 meters, which catapulted him to victory at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, August last year.
