The anti-benami zone of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has identified as many as 15 costly benami vehicles registered in a person’s name.
According to sources, all the vehicles are registered in the name of a person named Abdul Ghaffar, who has denied ownership in a statement. He claims he has no involvement with the vehicles registered under his name and has no idea who actually owns them.
“Someone used my national identification card to register these vehicles under my name,” he said, as per the reports. He demanded that all of these vehicles’ registrations be revoked.
According to the reports, these cars will be seized and auctioned off, with the proceeds being deposited in the national exchequer.
