22Million+ Children Away from Education in Pakistan:Report

As per report from UNICEF, approximately 22.8 million children of Pakistan between the age of 5 to 16 years are not in schools.

They are not able to read or write anything and known as illiterate or uneducated.

However, some of scholars think that labelling them is not fair as they don’t stay out of school purposely or willingly. Their surroundings doesn’t allow them to join school.

The solution presented in such case is a concept of ‘de-schooling’, which is defined as ‘the process of adapting to a less formal education where children often take control of what and how to learn’.

It’s an alternative mode of learning. Such modes of learning already introduced in Pakistan, due to unaware, lack of understanding, language barriers and no financial rewards out-of-school children cannot benefit from it.
