Sindh Police have blacklisted around 40,000 vehicles in Karachi under the Safe City Project. Action against these vehicles will begin from July 1, 2026. The move aims to improve vehicle registration records, clear unpaid dues, and strengthen law enforcement through better data tracking.
Most blacklisted vehicles belong to people who sold their cars but did not transfer ownership to the new buyers. Others include vehicles with incomplete owner details or unpaid government fees and traffic fines. Police say such vehicles can now be seized, and owners may face heavy fines.
Senior officials urged all vehicle owners to check their status immediately. Citizens can visit the official Sindh Police website (sindhpolice.gov.pk) or use related services like the TRACS 4 Citizens app to check e-challans and vehicle records. Enter your vehicle registration number and CNIC details to see if your car is on the blacklist.
People who find their vehicles blacklisted should complete the ownership transfer process at the Excise and Taxation Department before the deadline. Proper documents like sale agreements and receipts will help avoid problems. This step will clean up the system and make roads safer by removing untraceable vehicles.
The Safe City Project uses advanced cameras and data systems to fight crime and traffic violations.
