Lahore is also known as the “city of gardens” because it has so much beautiful and well-cared-for greenery. There are many parks in Lahore that are so beautiful that they blow people away. These spots are great for picnics in the summer and lovely walks in the winter.

Model Town Park, which used to be called Nawaz Sharif Park and opened in 1990, was mostly built as a golf course. The park is one of the most beautiful in Lahore.

It covers hundreds of acres and has tall trees along the walking path that make you feel like you’re in the country. Model Town Park also has large areas for picnics and jogging, as well as a play area where kids can use their imaginations to do a lot of different physical activities. It is one of Lahore’s best parks.

Jallo Park is the next park that is very well known among Lahoris. The park is 20 km east of Lahore and 1/2 km from the Lahore Canal. It is on the Wagah–Amritsar Railway Line.

The park is 837 acres in size. Before, it was a reserve forest that was used to grow trees, make firewood, and do research on forestry. Out of this huge 837-acre land area, only 456 acres were used to build the park.

Since then, the park has been turned into a theme park with a wide range of educational, fun, and cultural attractions.

People can go to the park without paying any kind of fee. Also, facilities for recreation are very cheap.

This park must be visited if you wish to explore all types of flora and natural beauty because there are more than 120 species of various trees, bushes, and climbers.

The Greater Iqbal Park

The Greater Iqbal ParkGreater Iqbal Park is home to many attractions, but the historic Minar-e-Pakistan stands out among them all. The building is a reminder of when the Pakistan Resolution, which was passed on March 23, 1940, was signed.

The park is over 320 acres and has good places for families to have picnics and spend time together. Also, the park has a lot of open space big enough for a variety of outdoor activities like sports, walking, jogging, and biking.

Due to the history of the park and the Minar-e-Pakistan, the park itself is seen as a beacon of hope. Greater Iqbal Park, which used to be called Iqbal Park, is one of the best places to go with your family in Lahore.

It has a lot of playgrounds for kids. Even after the sun goes down, you’ll still be amazed by the park’s light and fountain shows.

Bagh-e-Jinnah, or Lawrence Garden, is one of the peacefull parks in Lahore and a great place to escape the city’s hectic atmosphere. People usually come to this park to relax and unwind in the shade of the park’s many tall, green trees.

Lahore’s historic park honours Pakistan’s first president, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. When the park was first built in the late 1800s, it was named after John Lawrence, who was Viceroy of India from 1864 to 1869.

Visitors to this park can have picnics, ride bikes, and run, among other outdoor activities. Bah-e-Jinnah also has a sports complex, an open-air theatre, and a library.

Jilani Park, formerly Race Course Park, is situated in the centre of Lahore. The park is well-known for its waterfalls and floral displays. The park has yearly horse racing competitions as well.

Another fantastic sight in Lahore is the Lahore Wildlife Park. In 1981, it welcomed the general public through its doors. The park is a publicly accessible amenity with a total area of 242 acres (98 hectares).

The Lahore Wildlife Park, which opened its doors in 2004, also has the largest walkthrough aviary. Also constructed next to a lake were boating and fishing facilities. The lake, which is distributed across four islands, is the largest in the city.

The park’s main attractions include two lions, Indian peafowl, Bengal tigers, common pheasants, emus, mute swans, nilgais, ostriches, and silver pheasants.

Additionally, there are safari trails covering an area of 80 acres in the lion and Bengal tiger habitats (32 ha). Lahore Wildlife Park is the place to visit if you enjoy adventures and exotic wildlife.
