Two handwritten Qurans, one of which is thought to be 700 years old, were discovered in the library of a school in Turkey’s Tokat’s Zile region. The Qurans will be given to the Foundations Directorate.
Murat Küçükali, Tokat Provincial Director of National Education, told A Haber news agency about the discovery: “The manuscripts of the Quran are handwritten. One is 700 years old, while the other is estimated to be roughly 400 years old due to the destruction of the page’s date.”
“They were discovered in the Zile Imam Hatip High School library’s archive. To avoid additional degradation or damage, the works were promptly put aside. Soon after, we contacted the Regional Directorate of Foundations. The works would be handed over to the director “he explained.
