Nvidia’s H100 AI chip helped it become a really big company, possibly even bigger than Alphabet and Amazon, which are worth trillions of dollars. This made other companies hurry to catch up. But Nvidia might get even stronger with its new Blackwell B200 GPU and GB200 “superchip.”
The new B200 GPU can do a lot of work, up to 20 petaflops, which is a huge amount. Nvidia says it has 208 billion tiny parts called transistors. They also say that the GB200, which has two of these GPUs and a special Grace CPU, can do even more work, like 30 times more for certain tasks.
Nvidia says this can make things much cheaper and use less energy, maybe up to 25 times less than before. But we don’t know how much it will cost yet. The CEO of Nvidia said each GPU could be between $30,000 and $40,000.
