Pakistan’s Likely Playing XI for First T20I Against New Zealand

The Pakistan cricket team is gearing up to face New Zealand in the first T20I of the five-match series at Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. With the looming possibility of rain and overcast conditions, the team management is tasked with crafting a balanced lineup that can navigate these challenges effectively.

At the helm of the team is the talented Babar Azam, who not only leads by example but also provides stability at the top of the order. Partnering with him will be Saim Ayub, a promising young talent expected to bolster Pakistan’s opening partnership.

Following them is the reliable Mohammad Rizwan, who assumes the crucial number three position. Rizwan’s ability to anchor the innings and stabilize the middle order will be pivotal, especially in testing conditions.

A key decision for the team management lies in choosing between Usman Khan and Fakhar Zaman to strengthen the batting lineup. Both players bring their own strengths, with Usman offering solidity and Fakhar known for his explosive batting. The final decision will depend on the team’s strategy and assessment of the pitch conditions.

In the all-rounder department, Pakistan boasts a formidable trio in Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Imad Wasim. These players not only provide depth to the batting order but also contribute with their bowling skills, offering versatility to the team’s composition.

Given the expected rainy conditions, Pakistan is leaning towards fielding four pacers to exploit the seam-friendly pitch. The pace attack is set to include Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, and Abbas Afridi, each capable of generating pace and movement to trouble the opposition batsmen.
