Iran Slaps Sanctions on US, UK Over Is_ráél Support

On Thursday, Iran announced sanctions against several American and British individuals and entities for their support of Israel in its conflict against the Palestinians.

Iran, known as a staunch enemy of Israel, revealed the punitive measures in a statement issued by its foreign ministry. The sanctions target seven Americans, including General Bryan P. Fenton, head of the US Special Operations Command, and Admiral Brad Cooper, a former commander of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet.

British officials and entities facing sanctions include Defense Secretary Grant Shapps, leader James Hockenhull, and the UK Royal Navy in the Red Sea.

Additionally, US companies Lockheed Martin and Chevron, along with their British counterparts Elbit Systems, Parker Meggitt, and Rafael UK, have been subjected to sanctions. The sanctions entail actions such as blocking accounts and transactions in the Iranian financial and banking systems, freezing assets under Iranian jurisdiction, and restricting visa issuance and entry into Iranian territory.

Iran’s move highlights its condemnation of support for Israel in its conflict with the Palestinians and underscores its determination to take punitive measures against those perceived as aiding Israel.
