The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) will take place from April 7 to May 20, coinciding with the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. This change comes as Pakistan prepares to host the 2025 Champions Trophy in February-March. The PCB plans to hold matches in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, with playoffs scheduled at neutral venues.
PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer stated, “We had a fruitful discussion with the franchise owners regarding the PSL 2025 window and playoff venues. The franchise owners shared valuable insights, and we will provide them with additional data to help them make informed decisions at the upcoming General Council meeting. We are committed to working closely with the franchise owners to ensure timely decisions for the future success of one of Pakistan’s premier sporting events.”
This scheduling overlap may affect the participation of overseas players in both leagues simultaneously for the first time. PCB is seeking input from franchise owners to chart the course for the future of the PSL.
