12 People Injured as Qatar Airways Flight Hits Turbulence

Passengers and crew on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Ireland went through turbulence, causing injuries to six passengers and six crew members. This turbulence happened while the plane was flying over Turkey and lasted less than 20 seconds.

The plane, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, managed to land safely at Dublin Airport. Upon landing, emergency services were ready to help those who were injured. Qatar Airways mentioned that only a small number of people had minor injuries and they are now getting medical care. The airline is also looking into the incident.

Turbulence incidents like this one are common in air travel. According to a 2021 study by the US National Transportation Safety Board, turbulence often leads to injuries but usually doesn’t cause any damage to the aircraft.

In this particular case, the sudden turbulence caused discomfort and injury to some on board, but the crew handled the situation well, ensuring a safe landing. The quick response by emergency services at Dublin Airport helped those injured get the necessary medical attention promptly.
