China Firm Sets 2027 ZERO Emission Target for Electric Plane with 1,800 Mile Range

Chinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd (CATL) has provided an update on its partnership project focused on electric manned aircraft.

CATL is working on a groundbreaking innovation aimed at significantly advancing the electric aviation industry. This project promises to deliver a remarkable range for 8-ton civil aircraft, which could be a major step forward for the sector.

During the 15th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions, CATL chairman Robin Zeng shared exciting news about the company’s progress.

He announced that their new batteries are expected to achieve a range of 1,200 to 1,800 miles (2,000 to 3,000 kilometers) by the years 2027 or 2028. This development could revolutionize the capabilities of electric aircraft, making them a more viable option for longer flights.
