Islamabad Schools to Go Solar by Year-End

Islamabad’s schools are about to get a green upgrade with the government planning to install solar panels in educational institutions. This move aims to boost renewable energy use and cut down reliance on traditional power sources.

The project will kick off with 44 schools getting solar panels first, and then it will gradually expand to include other schools. These solar panels will help schools save on energy costs and lower their carbon emissions.

The government has set aside Rs 200 million for this initiative, which is expected to generate 10 megawatts of electricity. This effort is part of a broader plan to support sustainable development and reduce environmental pollution.

Moreover, this initiative will help raise awareness among students about the importance of renewable energy and sustainability. By seeing solar panels in action, students can learn firsthand about clean energy and its benefits for the planet.
