Pakistan’s E-COMMERCE Sector Ranked 46th Globally, ITA Data Reveals

Pakistan’s e-commerce sector is gaining significant recognition on the global stage, now ranking as the 46th largest market worldwide, according to a report by the International Trade Administration (ITA).The ITA, an agency under the U.S. Department of Commerce, offers crucial insights to assist American businesses in selecting suitable markets and products.

It operates through its divisions, including Industry and Analysis (I&A), Global Markets (GM), and Enforcement and Compliance (E&C).As reported by the state-run APP news agency, Pakistan’s e-commerce growth is being driven by several key factors. A growing middle class, increasing smartphone and internet usage, improved e-commerce infrastructure, and strong government support have all played a significant role in the sector’s expansion.

In 2023, Pakistan’s e-commerce sector generated an impressive $5.2 billion in revenue. This achievement places the country ahead of many other developing nations in the e-commerce landscape. The sector is expected to continue its upward trajectory, with a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.92 percent from 2024 to 2029. This growth reflects the dynamic potential of Pakistan’s e-commerce market, which is poised to make even greater strides in the years ahead.
