Pakistan to Export Meat, Hides of 200,000 Donkeys Annually to China

Pakistan is set to start exporting donkey meat and hides to China, with plans to supply 216,000 units each year. This move aims to meet China’s increasing demand while also maintaining food security within Pakistan.

To prevent any disruption in the local market, slaughterhouses will be built outside Karachi, and new facilities are being developed in Gwadar. Pakistan currently has a donkey population of 5.2 million, and the government is encouraging local breeding to support this growing industry.

This initiative is expected to create new job opportunities in Pakistan while strengthening economic ties between the two nations. As donkey meat becomes more popular in China, this venture holds potential for boosting trade and increasing Pakistan’s exports.

Overall, the project not only addresses China’s needs but also promotes Pakistan’s role in the global market, with positive impacts on both the economy and local employment.

This partnership reflects the growing cooperation between Pakistan and China, paving the way for further collaboration in agriculture and trade sectors.
