Justice Yahya Afridi Sworn in as 30th Chief Justice of Pakistan

Justice Yahya Afridi was sworn in as the 30th Chief Justice of Pakistan at a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. The oath was administered by President Asif Zardari.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and military officials. Justice Afridi, born on January 23, 1965, in Dera Ismail Khan, has a strong educational background, including a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Cambridge.

Justice Afridi has had an extensive career in law, serving as an advocate in various roles. Before his current appointment, he was the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court.

Following the 26th constitutional amendment, Justice Afridi will serve as the Chief Justice of Pakistan for the next three years.
