Pakistan, China to Build Expressway Linking Gwadar Port to Airport

Pakistan and China have signed an agreement to build an expressway connecting Gwadar Port to the new Gwadar International Airport. This project is part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which focuses on improving infrastructure and boosting economic growth between the two countries.

In addition to the expressway, both nations have agreed to conduct feasibility studies for new motorways, including routes linking Mirpur-Muzaffarabad and Karachi-Hyderabad.

These new roads are part of Pakistan’s efforts to expand its transport infrastructure, which is expected to reduce travel times, improve trade, and open up more economic opportunities for the country.

Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning, praised China for its support in upgrading Pakistan’s infrastructure. He highlighted the success of previous CPEC projects, such as the Multan-Sukkur Motorway, as examples of the positive impact these developments are having on the country.

The new expressway and motorways will not only improve the flow of goods and people but also help Pakistan further develop its economic potential.

Plans for additional highways, such as a mineral corridor in Balochistan, are also in the works, with the goal of enhancing the country’s transport network and boosting economic growth.

These initiatives show the continued collaboration between Pakistan and China to improve the region’s infrastructure and create new opportunities for trade and development.
