The Indian cricket team will wear jerseys featuring the official ICC logo, which includes Pakistan’s name as the host country, during the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. This decision complies with the guidelines set by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Earlier, reports suggested that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was hesitant to include Pakistan’s name on the jerseys. However, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia has now confirmed that the Indian team will follow ICC rules and display the logo as required.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had previously criticized the BCCI, accusing them of politicizing the matter and causing unnecessary controversy. Addressing the concerns, the ICC issued a clarification, stating that all participating teams are mandated to display the tournament’s official logo on their kits, which includes the name of the host nation.
The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025. Matches will be held in Pakistan, with some games also being played in Dubai, providing cricket fans with an exciting blend of venues. This marks another significant milestone for cricket, as the tournament brings together top teams from around the world to compete for the prestigious title.
