Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has introduced special fare discounts on two key international routes, aiming to facilitate travelers returning home for Eid-ul-Fitr. The initiative comes ahead of Ramadan, a peak travel season when many Pakistanis living abroad visit their families.
According to an official announcement made on Friday, the national carrier has reduced fares by 10% on flights from Toronto to Karachi. Additionally, passengers traveling from Paris to Islamabad can avail a 15% discount. The move is expected to boost travel and provide financial relief to passengers amid rising airfare costs.
PIA’s corporate wing has detailed the validity of the discounted fares. Travelers flying from Toronto to Karachi can benefit from the reduced prices until March 31, with ticket bookings available until March 10. Meanwhile, the Paris-Islamabad discount is applicable for flights between February 28 and March 16, with ticket reservations open until March 2.
Passengers can purchase discounted tickets online as well as through designated PIA booking offices.
This development comes at a crucial time for the airline, which has been facing operational challenges, including recent disruptions in its ticketing system. Furthermore, the government has announced plans to invite bids for the privatization of PIA in March 2025, indicating significant changes ahead for the national carrier.
By offering these special Eid discounts, PIA aims to accommodate the increased demand for travel during the festive period, ensuring that more passengers can reunite with their loved ones without bearing excessive financial burdens.
