Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, visited the family of late student Laiba Ijaz on October 21, 2026, to offer condolences and express solidarity with them during this difficult time.
During the visit, Naqvi prayed for the deceased and briefed the family on the progress of the investigation.
He also handed over more than Rs5 million to Laiba’s father, reportedly recovered from a suspected fraudster who had allegedly deceived the student and taken her money.
Laiba’s father thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for their support, saying the family had personally experienced the state’s assistance.
Naqvi assured the family that authorities would continue their efforts to recover the remaining amount and pursue the case further.
