As per the sources, the Govt has decided to give China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) style security cover to Exploration & Production (E&P) activities, to blow the potential of oil & gas resided in various areas of the country.
Sources told that an extraordinary force of the armed forces will be created for the security & safety of E&P projects in the country like the template of security of CPEC projects in the framework which a security department was previously formed.
According to some sources, E&P events take place in distant areas particularly of Balochistan & KPK have become a difficult job &, after consultation with the interested parties, the Govt has announced to provide CPEC style security covering to E&P firms operating in the country primarily to utilize the oil and gas reserves.
Special Assistant to the PM on Petroleum & Power tweeted, disclosing the tactical work flows in the gas sector & made aware that in accordance with the short term strategic work flow in the gas sector, upto 300MMCFD (3+additional LNG cargoes per month) of additional capacity which is made available at the current terminals may be used.
As per the provided details, the Govt has announced to amend the gas sector & for this objective a strategic workflow has been developed that is further subdivided into 3 parts: short term (6-12 months), medium term (2+years) and long term (3+ years).
Beside from board meeting industrial gas request in 7 around Karachi without the necessity to physically gain access to the Sui’s pipeline network;
this suggestion may potentially provide the 150MMCFD of RLNG that Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) is presently maintaining in their system & consequently release the same to encounter the shortfall up north in the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) system.
As per the PM’s orders, this base resource has to be completed ASAP, at affordable rates for the consumers & with maximum participation of local companies, know-how & material.
