Pakistani Novelist Alishba Barech Wins ‘Young Woman of the Year’ at Women Changing the World Awards

Pakistani author Alishba Khan Barech has been honored with the “Young Woman of the Year” award at the 2025 Women Changing the World Awards. The ceremony took place in London, where she received the award from well-known figures Dr. Tererai Trent and Duchess Sarah Ferguson.

Alishba has gained worldwide recognition for her achievements in literature and social activism. She holds the record as Pakistan’s youngest novelist and memoir writer. Her work is known for giving a strong voice to the people of Balochistan and highlighting important social issues through her stories.

Alongside her writing career, Alishba also plays an active role in public service. She currently serves as a youth advisor to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and works as an ambassador for both UNICEF and the Quetta Gladiators.
