Petrol Prices Increased by Rs. 4.8 Per Litre, New Price: 258.47

The federal government has increased the price of petrol by Rs. 4.80 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs. 258.47 per litre. This change took effect from June 15, 2025 and was officially announced late on Friday night.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the increase comes as part of the government’s regular price review, which is influenced by changes in international oil markets and currency exchange rates. Global crude oil prices have gone up in recent weeks and this directly affects the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan, which imports most of its fuel.

The government said that the decision was made under the current fuel pricing mechanism, which takes into account international prices, local taxes and the value of the Pakistani rupee. Any rise in these factors can result in higher fuel prices for consumers.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD), which is widely used in trucks and buses for transportation and goods delivery is also expected to increase, though the official notification for diesel is yet to be released.
