Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently met with Sana Mir, the former captain of the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team, to personally congratulate her on a historic achievement — being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. She is the first Pakistani woman to ever receive this honor, making the entire nation proud.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister praised Sana Mir for her remarkable cricketing career and strong leadership. He said that her success is an inspiration for young athletes, especially girls in Pakistan, and expressed hope that she will continue to guide and support the next generation of cricketing talent in the country.
Sana Mir, who represented Pakistan from 2005 to 2019, has an impressive record. She took 151 wickets in One Day Internationals (ODIs), which is the highest for any Pakistani woman in this format. She was also the first Asian woman cricketer to play 100 international T20 matches, a major milestone in her career.
In the meeting, Sana shared her thoughts on how women’s cricket in Pakistan can be improved and expanded. She promised to keep working for the betterment of the sport, not just in Pakistan, but around the world through international platforms.
