This scholarship goes beyond covering tuition—it aims to empower students from low-income families who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. Selected students will work on meaningful social projects tied to the challenges faced in their home countries. After graduation, they are expected to return home and continue these projects to bring real change.
Along with free education, the scholarship covers accommodation, a monthly stipend, and in some cases, travel expenses. This initiative is open all year round, giving students the flexibility to apply anytime.
Eligibility Criteria for SBW Berlin Scholarship 2025:
- Age must be between 18 to 30 years
- Minimum academic performance equal to 2.0 (German grading scale)
- No immediate family members living in Germany
- Must be from a low-income background
- Must not have lived in Germany for more than 18 months before applying
- Should be applying before university admission or be in their 1st/2nd semester
- Must show strong involvement in volunteer or nonprofit work
- Willing to return home for at least 18 months after graduation
- Not receiving financial aid from other sources for studying in Germany
