PAF to Train South African Air Force

The South African Air Force (SAAF) has officially asked the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for help in improving its training systems and maintaining its fleet of C-130 transport aircraft.

This development came after a high-level meeting held in Islamabad between SAAF Chief Lieutenant General Wiseman Simo Mbambo and PAF Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. During the meeting, both air force leaders discussed ways to strengthen ties and agreed to work closely on aviation training, technical support, and overall operational readiness.

The SAAF is looking to upgrade its training methods and boost the performance of its aircraft fleet, especially the C-130s, which play a vital role in transport and humanitarian missions. Pakistan, known for its experience with C-130 maintenance and air force training programs, was seen as a strong partner in this effort.

Both sides expressed a shared interest in building a long-term defense partnership. The PAF assured full support and cooperation in training, technical services, and other key areas. This collaboration is expected to not only help modernize SAAF capabilities but also deepen defense ties between the two countries.

The meeting highlighted a mutual desire for knowledge exchange and stronger global military cooperation.
