Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that “Another Karbala is unfolding in Gaza,” as he urged the Muslim world to speak up against the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
He drew a strong comparison between the tragic events of Karbala and the suffering faced by innocent people in Gaza today. He said that just like the sacrifices made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions, the people of Gaza are also facing great hardship while standing up against oppression.
Khawaja Asif stressed that the time has come for the Muslim world to break its silence and take a united stand. He said the continued silence in the face of such cruelty is painful and unacceptable. According to him, the Muslim world must raise its voice for the people of Gaza and take practical steps to support them.
He added that the scenes coming from Gaza—of children, women, and civilians being killed or displaced—remind us of the same injustice and cruelty that took place in Karbala centuries ago.
The Defence Minister urged all Muslim countries, leaders, and communities to come together and respond with unity, compassion, and strength. He said that history will remember who stood for the oppressed and who stayed silent.
