Chinese automaker BYD has officially launched its much-awaited plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the Shark 6, in Pakistan.
With a price tag of around PKR 2 crore, the BYD Shark 6 introduces modern hybrid technology to Pakistan’s famous “daala culture” the country’s love for tough pickup trucks.
The Shark 6 comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine combined with two electric motors. This mix gives the vehicle strong performance while keeping fuel use low, making it both powerful and fuel-efficient.
Built for both city roads and off-road adventures, the Shark 6 is made for people who want performance, style, and care about the environment at the same time.
BYD’s launch of this new pickup is seen as an important step for Pakistan’s growing electric and hybrid vehicle market. Many experts believe that bringing advanced hybrid trucks to the local market can change how people see electric vehicles — showing that they can be tough, stylish, and practical too.
The Shark 6 is designed to appeal to drivers who love powerful vehicles but also want to reduce their fuel costs and carbon footprint. With its modern look and eco-friendly features, it hopes to win over people who want a rugged yet responsible ride.
BYD’s move into the pickup truck segment is expected to push other automakers to explore more green options too. As the demand for hybrid and electric vehicles rises, launches like the Shark 6 could help shape a cleaner, smarter future for Pakistan’s roads.
