Lahore Becomes First City in World to Install Field-Tested Anti-Smog Gun System

Lahore has made history by becoming the first city in the world to set up and assemble AI-powered anti-smog guns. This new system is part of an advanced dust control plan shared by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

As part of this project, 15 modern fog cannons have been installed across the city. These special machines spray a fine mist of water into the air, which helps capture harmful dust particles like PM2.5 and PM10. By trapping these tiny pollutants, the fog cannons help them settle on the ground, making the air cleaner and safer to breathe.

What makes this system special is its smart technology. These anti-smog guns are connected to Punjab’s real-time air monitoring system. They can turn on automatically when pollution levels get too high.

Data from satellites, drones, and artificial intelligence helps control when and where the fog cannons should operate for maximum effect.

This new technology is part of Punjab’s bigger plan to tackle pollution and protect the environment. Other steps include declaring all public parks in Punjab as no-smoking zones to help reduce harmful smoke in public spaces.

The government hopes that this new anti-smog system will help Lahore fight back against its serious smog problems, which cause breathing issues and health risks every winter.

By combining smart machines with real-time monitoring, Punjab is setting an example for other cities that face similar air quality challenges. Many residents are hopeful this new step will bring cleaner, fresher air for everyone in Lahore.
