Rabi-ul-Awwal Moon Expected to be Sighted on August 24 in Pakistan: SUPARCO

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has announced the expected sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon for the Islamic year 1447 AH. According to their forecast, the new moon will be born at 11:06 a.m. on August 23, 2025.

By the evening of August 24, the moon will be approximately 32 hours old, which should make it visible under clear and favorable weather conditions. In coastal areas of Pakistan, the moon is expected to set roughly 45 minutes after sunset, giving observers a good opportunity to see it.

If the skies remain clear, the moon is likely to be sighted on the evening of August 24. This would mean that August 25, 2025, will be celebrated as the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal, an important month in the Islamic calendar.
