Pakistan to Celebrate 1,500 Years of Eid Milad-un-Nabi Nationwide with Full Zeal

The Senate of Pakistan has approved a resolution to hold nationwide celebrations in honor of the 1500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The resolution was presented by Senator Irfan Siddiqui and received unanimous support from all members present. It called for this year’s Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) to be observed with special enthusiasm, deep respect, and a spirit of unity across the country.

The Senate session was chaired by Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani. During the meeting, another resolution was also passed which highlighted Pakistan’s Independence Day and paid tribute to the historic struggle for truth and justice. Both resolutions reflected a strong desire to strengthen national identity and religious values through collective remembrance.

Despite the importance of the day, attendance in the Senate remained noticeably low. Many members were absent, which resulted in the question hour segment being left incomplete. The contrast between the unanimous approval of the resolutions and the lack of participation raised concern about the seriousness with which parliamentary proceedings are being attended.

The resolutions, however, set the stage for a year of significance, as Pakistan prepares to mark a milestone in Islamic history while also reflecting on its own journey of independence and resilience.
